This piece is a screenprinted picture of my sister and me on top of a crayon drawing. My sister’s first name is Peri, similar to the 2022 color of the year, very peri purple, which is an integral color in this piece. While my sister was home for Christmas break, we doodled winding vines with abstract leaves and flowers in my sketchbook, which I replicated for this piece. Orange messy flowers grow from these vines, celebrating my sister’s graduation from Syracuse University. The border is made from small cut-up chunks from peppermint tea bags, the beverage my sister and I drank together growing up. This is a graduation present I made for my sister, that proudly lives in her room now.
